About Us

The School in Brief

Established for over 100 years, and on its current site since 1958, Dowerin District High School is a well maintained and equipped school that caters for approximately 140 students from Kindergarten to Year 10.

The dedicated and skilled staff at Dowerin District High School make outstanding use of high-quality resources and strong community connections to deliver a dynamic and diverse curriculum. The flexibility of being a District High School has resulted in several specialist teachers being available to deliver curriculum to our primary school aged children. This includes Science, the Humanities (History and Geography) and Physical Education.

Becoming an Independent Public School in 2013, resulted in increased autonomy and allowed greater flexibility to tailor physical, financial and human resources for the benefit of our students.

Our 2025–2027 Business Plan clearly articulates the school’s strategic priorities: Success for All Students, Excellence in Teaching and Leadership, and Developing and Strengthening Partnerships.
